A Lot of Everything

We've been going on a ton of walks lately.  Well walk/runs.  I'm trying hard to get back into shape.  Derek will finally ride his bike next to me while I push the twins in the jogger.  We've been running/biking down to my parents a few days week.  It's a great workout for Derek (and me), and it burns all his energy so he rests in the afternoon.... I love that!

My grandparents came down last week for a few days.  It was nice to see them and see how the kids interact with them.  This is only the second time they have seen James and Jillian.  I hope to get up to Utah to visit them during the Summer.

Jason finished our BBQ the morning of Derek's birthday party.  The stucco still needs to be painted, and knobs need to be put on the cabinets, so it's not 100 percent complete... but close enough.  At least it's finally usable.  And usable it is!  We grill almost daily.  I grill for lunch... hot dogs, chicken, pizza.  And we grill for dinner.  I love grilling because there is no mess to clean up inside.  So here are MANY pictures from start to finish.  I love my Mr. Fix It!

Derek started tae-kwon-do on Tuesday.  He loves it and so do I.  It's an awesome work out for  him.  I think he will gain some much needed discipline in this class.  His instuctors, Master Shin and Master Sun are incredible.  These three, four and five year-olds listen as if Master Sun is God.  It's unbelievable what kind of power a guy in a karate uniform can have.

Jillian is in a pinching and hitting phase.  We were sitting on the sofa together yesterday and she grabbed my hand and bit my thumb.  For no reason.  She drew blood.  I was mad.  So I took her little hand and slapped it.  I should have taken a picture of her face.  The reaction was priceless.  She was so shocked that I did such a thing.  Her bottom lip quivered and she just stared at me with big puppy dog eyes.  I wanted to laugh... and give her a hug, but I couldn't.  I was teaching her a lesson.  I don't think she'll ever bite me again.

James is still so attached to me.  Whenever I look down, he's right there on my leg.  I've been trying to get the babies out (without me) more often.  They went to the Kids Klub at the gym again on Sunday morning.  They loved it!  I definitely need to take them more often.  We also visited Derek's old daycare provider, Miss Lauri, today.  They loved it there!  So they're going tomorrow while I go to Derek's last day of school luncheon.

Lately Derek has been telling me that I'm the best chef in the whole city.  Mind you, this is after I make something like macaroni and cheese or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  We just made a strawberry pie together and as he took his first bite he said, you should tear this whole house apart and make a restaurant, cuz you're a good chef mom".

I'll never get tired of compliments from a four-year old.  One thing I do get tired of... the constant nagging, mom this.. and mom that.  I suppose I have a long while until that ends.

I'm super excited for this weekend.  Friday night is dinner and the most anticipated movie of the year for me, Sex And The City 2.  Every time I see the preview for it I get all giddy!  By BFF turned me into a SATC fan many years ago.  I'm so glad she did.  Did you know I cried when the very last episode aired?  Not because it was sad, but because I was so upset it was over.  But then again I also cried at the last episode of Friends, and 90210... not  to mention The Lion King.  I'm sappy like that.

On with the weekend... Saturday night Jason and I have another wedding to go to.  This time I won't forget my camera.  I'm excited.  I love weddings.  But I know I told you that already.

Have a great week and a fun Memorial Day weekend!

Your backyard grill looks fantastic! I bet Jason is SO excited! I know you are too, I'm sure! Joe LOVES his BBQ and it is definitely not as nice :)
I hope that Jillian's phase passes soon! That doesn't sound like a fun one...but she's got to have something with two brothers right?!
I totally know what you mean about having a little man stuck to your leg...I bet we'll be sad once they don't want us anymore :)
Have fun at SATC!!! It looks so cute!

Your grill is fantastic! I love grilling out, too. But I never think to do it for lunch. Plus, it doesn't make the house hot.

I love that your son wants to turn your house into a restaurant. Your kids are so seriously cute. Nice job on that!

Oh my goodness Kelly..I wish we still lived by you because our kids would get along GREAT! Kirra and Jillian could hit and bite each other all day long. Tavin and Derek could nag us together and Tavin could ask you "Why?" ALL DAY LONG! Seriously though, it's nice knowing other mom's are going through the same stages and hopefully they are just that...stages! LOVE the BBQ! I want to get Brett a BBQ for Father's Day so we can grill tons too. GOOD WORK JASON!!!!! I'm soooooo impressed!
