Happy 4th!

As long as I have known Jason we have celebrated the 4th in Huntington Beach. Our old house was biking distance from the beach and all the July 4th festivities. The past 8 years (I think) have always been so fun! It was very different being in Corona this year. No fun Main Street parade, no beach. But we do have our pool, thankfully. And of course we barb-b-qued. I didn't feel like attending the parade in Corona in such hot weather, especially with the babies. We usually seem to have a lot of people over for the 4th, but this year was pretty quiet. My mom was in Mammoth with my brother and his wife. Sara was home in Seattle, Jason's sisters were out of town. It was just us, my dad, and Jason's parents. Fun, but quiet.

I wasn't sure how the day was going to unfold because the night before the twins both had fevers and were crying off the wall! Derek was also not himself. I had to miss out on a dinner out with girlfriends because of these poor little sickies. But they all woke up in good spirits on the 4th.

We swam a lot. It's always nice to have Maria here. She is so willing to take care of James and Jillian so I can relax. I really got to enjoy our pool all day long for the first time.

We did some small fireworks in the backyard...



Our backyard has the perfect view of the fireworks show at Santana Park. That ended a nice, relaxing 4th of July!
