A Bunch of Sickos

Last week all five of us caught a cold.  Mine is still lingering on.  Jason seems to be better.  But the kids, oh the kids... of course their's turned into more.

Our pediatrician has a walk-in clicnic every weekday from 8:30-9:30 am.  But if you aren't there by 8:15, forgrt about it.  I was able to have my mother-in-law come over this morning so I didn't have to take all 3 kids.  I guess I should have taken all 3, but I thought James was the worst.  I arrived at 8:30 on the dot.  Seven people ahead of us already... arrrrggghhhh!

After waiting an hour and a half we were seen.  James has a double ear infection... exactly what I thought.

And the poor little guy also did this to his fingers on Saturday.

I know my pictures suck today, after seeing how they all turend out I noticed my lens is filthy.  This picture doesn't show how bad James' burned fingers really are.

He opened the oven while it was on and then shut the oven door on his hand.  I would have been right there to prevent this if it hadn't have been for his cute little twin sister who was getting her diaper changed.

Back to my day of doctor's appointments.... As soon as we got home from dropping off James' prescription, I had to run in, put James in bed for his nap, grab Derek and take him to his pre-op appointment for his foot surgery next Monday.

See the lovely cyst on his right baby toe.  The doctor said it's actually starting to deform his toe, as you can see how it's angled inward.

It will be removed next week.  Fun stuff.  It will be Derek's first time under general anesthesia.  Hope it goes well.

So we get home from that appointment when Derek says, "My ear hurts."  Really?  We were just at the doctor.  Yes, it was the orthopedic surgeon, but I'm sure he could have looked in his ear.  And Jillian keeps tugging at her ear now, as well.

So I don't even try to get them in.  I think urgent care tonight is a better idea.  And it was.  In and out in 20 minutes, with both kids!  Can't beat that.  Turns out Jillian doesn't have an ear infection.  She is tugging at the ear that has a cyst on it, so maybe the cyst is begining to irritate her.  Her surgery is the week after Derek's.  Seriously, 2 of my 3 children have cysts that need to be surgically removed... what the heck?

Check out how big her cyst is getting.  I'm glad it's coming out soon.

Derek also had an ear infection.  Maybe that's what I can blame his crabby behavior on.

So 3 kids, 2 antibiotics, and 4 co-payments later...

I hope this week gets better.  Because next week may be worse with Derek's surgery.... can't wait to see how crabby he'll be then.

Oh Kelly! I feel so bad for all that's going on in your house. As if your whole family having a cold and an ear infection wasn't bad enough... surgeries too!

I will be around Monday so please let me know if you need help with anything!!! The twins or running out to get a prescription, or whatever!!

Oh yea, and poor James hand! I am suprised he can open the oven door alone!! I think ours is really heavy. That scares me though.

Oh Kelly, it seems like you can't catch a break!

Three kids all sick plus surgeries coming soon, I can't even imagine. I'll pray for you and your family. That has to be a lot of stress.

Oh, poor Kelly, you certainly do have the challenges. I feel so bad, I wish I could help. You are so lucky though, to have loving family and friends that are there for you...bottom line though it is all you isn't it? You always do it well, you are such a good mom.

Kelly Ruth.....what next? I feel for you. When we had to have Eri's ears done, she was only 2. It was hard, but mostly on us. She did fine. Kids are very resilient. They will both do well, I am sure, but it is awfully hard on the mommies and daddies. Hang in there. Spring is just around the corner!!

Oh my, that is horrible! You can't ever get better worried about your babies :(
I'm sorry about J's little hands and the other two's surgeries. It's not easy, but they will be in good hands. Nothing helps though until you know they are out and safe. Everyone is so sweet and comforting with T's procedures...but until he is done and in my arms, that is when I feel better :)
Hang in there!!!
