My BFF

I try to make my birthday last the whole month.  Who doesn't? .... Right?

I had another dinner date tonight.  This time with my BFF, Genny.  She's awesome.  Really, she is.

We always laugh when we're together.  Not just any kind of laugh, but we laugh HARD.  Sometimes it's that uncontrollable, almost pee your pants, laugh.  And I love it.

I met Genny in 3rd grade... Mrs. Titcomb's class.  One day we sat next to each other at lunch.  She opened her lunch pail and it had her name and address on it.  I said, "Hey, you live on Turquoise Drive?  So do I".  We were instant friends.

I would walk up the long street to Genny's, and she would walk to my house.  Although she was always scared to come to my house beacuse of my brother... he was such a little bully.

We would walk to Taco Bell every Saturday.

We decided on whose house to sleep over at Friday nights based on whose mom was ordering pizza.  I loved going to her house because her mom always had Chips Ahoy cookies in the freezer.  I still love frozen Chips Ahoy cookies!

I went on family trips with her, and she came on Lake Mead trips with us.

We had a fun childhood together.

And our friendship has continued through motherhood.  Twenty years later... 20 years!

(Mom and Kristy, does that make you feel old?)

Thanks for dinner and a movie tonight, Genny.  I love the time we spend together!

You guys BOTH look GORGEOUS in that top picture. Great coat! Is it really cold enough for that? I went out with no coat yesterday and it was snowing.

I think it's awesome that you guys have been close since childhood and are still just as close in motherhood. That RARELY happens. First off, you still live close enough to be such good friends. And second, you still like each other that much. You're in the same phase of life at the same time.

Katie's right. It is so rare for people to remain friends I think over that long period of time. Especially after they have lived together and fought like sisters!

Loved this post! 20 yrs! That makes ME feel so old. We sure aren't 9 anymore. Thank goodness our hair is way better now. That picture was hysterical.

I had tons of fun. And I laughed out loud to myself once I got home thinking about that "guacamole".

Happy 29th my friend!

Awww, as the Mama that watched the two of you grow up, listened to your giggle fests on sleepover nights, and worried when you drove off in cars with new licenses, and comforted through broken hearts, and lost boyfriends, and illnesses...and now having the sheer joy to see you both as grown women, mommies, wives, and keepers of your own castles.....well it has been my sincere pleasure all these years to witness your special friendship! I love you both. We all need to have friend who makes us pee our pants!!!

This is such a great post! It is so nice that you guys are such good friends, AND are in the same phase of life. This rarely happens! All of my close, really good friends live in different states, I'd kill for one of them to live in the same state as me, same city, I'd kill twice! Great pictures of the two of you, and I LOVE your coat! That flashback picture is awesome!
