"Binkie, peeeze!"

I told myself that Derek would no longer have a binky when he turns 2. Well, he has been 2 for a week now and I haven't taken it away. He only has it when he takes a nap and goes to sleep at night... and once in awhile in the car if he's screaming to get out. Ok, and when he gets hurt he says, "binkie, peeeze". I know it's a comfort thing and I just need to take it away cold turkey, but I feel bad. Some people have told me to have a ceremony and send the binkie to the 'Binkie Fairy' who in turn brings him a toy. So I think Jason and I will try this over the weekend. Any other advice on getting rid of the pacifier?
