My brother and his wife arrived in town late Friday night. We love when they come visit. They'll be here this weekend too!
Saturday started out great. We made breakfast and ate together, then we thought we'd have everyone over for a BBQ. So Derek and I grocery shopped while Jason stayed home with the sleeping babies. Then Jason had to go out and refill the propane tank for the BBQ. What a disaster that small trip turned out to be.
I get a call....
J: Babe, I just got in a little accident, so come down here.
Me: Are you OK, is it bad?
J: I'm fine, but come down here.
Me: Where?
J: Go down Main and turn left on Grand by the Arco, you'll see me.
Me: OK, be there soon.
My mom is already at my house along with Troy and Alyssa. Thankfully I had someone to stay with the kids. So Troy and I went. I thought to myself, why are we going down here? If it was just a little accident why do I need to come? Can't he just drive home?
But then as I turn left onto Grand I see a fire engine, an ambulance, 4 police cars and tons of looky-loos. Oh crap, that's Jason!
He was fine, absolutely fine, just shaken up a bit. We arrived just as the other driver was being loaded into the ambulance and off they went. I gave Jason a hug and couldn't believe what I saw...
Me: This is no fender bender, babe!
J: Yea, pretty bad, huh? That old guy just pulled right out in front of me!
Me: Wow, his car is totaled!
Officer: Yea, a fender bender for you, not for the other guy!
Of course the cops can't say who was at fault, but clearly it was the guy who didn't stop at his stop sign and pulled right in front of Jason who was going about 40 mph, AND didn't have a stop sign or light.
So the tow truck took away my beautiful new Suburban and I have to go get a rental tomorrow. It will probably take 2 weeks to fix. This Chevy definitely held up to it's slogan... like a rock! I'm so glad Derek didn't go with Jason on this errand.... very unusual because he ALWAYS goes with him. He just wanted to stay home with me and help make cupcakes.
(I'll post some accident pics as soon as my brother emails them to me!)
So the rest of the day my hubby was pretty bummed. We still had a BBQ, as everyone anxiously awaited our arrival back home. Then we got a night out with Troy and Alyssa. Dinner and some relaxation.
Sunday was good.... Jason isn't even sore, so lets hope no more bad luck comes our way.

I am so sorry to hear about Jason't accident, but thank goodness he wasn't hurt, AND he didn't have any of the kids.
I think YOU will be much happier to have just your three, as if that is a JUST!!! Love how you guys eat in the pool on hot days, just like we do.
So glad J is ok! How lucky that Derek just happened to stay home with you too huh!
I hope life resumes some normalcy again for you now that it's just your three kids at home each day.
Cute pic of you and J and Troy and Allisa. Sounds like a nice weekend...minus the accident of course.
I'm glad Jason is okay!
So glad that everyone is okay. That is so scary. Aside from the accident it looks like you had a good weekend in the pool!
Hi Kelly,
So sorry to hear about your husbands accident but good that your son stayed home. Having the fam barbecue was probably a good distraction for him. Looks like you all had fun.
PS
I listed you on my blog so I can peek at those cute kiddos of yours more often.. Hope that ok :)
Omigoodness, I'm glad that Jason is okay and I'm very sorry that you have to have a rental with 3 kids! Looks like the poool and BBQ were nice though!
