Jilli-Bean

My little lady developed a growth behind her right ear about 7 months ago. It has begun to grow a little bit, so her pediatrician sent us to an ear, nose, & throat doctor. The ENT said now that she is one, we can go ahead and remove it. It's just a cyst, which is nothing major, but we don't want to risk it growing even more and pushing her ear out even more.

As you can see, it has pushed her ear out just a tad. The doctor said he can fix that in surgery to make it look just like her left ear.

So at the end of March she will have her surgery. I hate when a child has to go under general anesthesia. I know she will be fine, but it's just a little worrisome.

I think she'll thank us later when she's wearing her hair in a ponytail and her ear doesn't stick out!

Poor little lady! Surgery is always scary, but she'll be okay. I'll pray for a safe procedure for her!

Love your new blog look too, that background is gorgeous!

Yes, she will be okay, but I think harder on you. She won't remember a THING!!! Thats the best part of choosing to do it now!
But, Oh mama, it is not a good feeling to know that your baby is going under...but I know, trust me, I know, that she will be in good hands. She WILL totally appreciate it! I just have to think the same thing when T goes under!
Thinking of you and her :)

I was a wreck when Erika had to have tubes put in her ears. It is hardest on Mommy. All will go perfectly, I am sure Kelly. Don't worry.

I wish she didn't have to go under, but you are right, she will probably be thankful later in her life when her ear is fine and she does not remember a thing!!

I will pray it all goes smoothly.
