Play Days & Sick Days

It's been awhile since my last post.  I really don't know how I found the time to blog before.  I know I could make time, but I'm not sure where I would pull that time slot from.

I don't know how two small people can add so much more laundry to our household.  Have I mentioned how much I despise doing laundry?


Moving on....

James and Jillian caught colds last week.  Those colds turned into coughs accompanied by fevers.  I finally gave in and took them to urgent care Sunday morning.  Instead of the entire family going, Jason stayed home with Derek and my mom came with me because I just hate chasing and trying to hold two toddlers in a doctors office.  It's funny how you wait to take the 2nd and 3rd child to the doctor... when Derek was a baby I would take him in for EVERYTHING!  Just to be told he has a cold, and so on. 

Well they both have bronchitis and an ear infection.  Definitely glad I took them in.  The antibiotics have already kicked in and they seem to be doing much better.  I really don't like being pinned on the couch with 3 whiney children who only want me.   

We went to a local carnival at Dos Lagos a few weeks ago.  Typical carnival.  Weird carnival workers.  But the kids had fun.  Aunt Sara joined us.... and couldn't wait to leave! (Although it looks like she was having fun and the twins couldn't wait to leave in the photo below).  She moved back home to Seattle last week.  She starts work again on May 1st.  I already miss her so much!  It was so fun having her around every day while she was on furlough. 

We had some hot days a couple weeks ago that called for some slip-n-slide fun.  Derek asked me to get it out of the garage and was so excited that it's Summer again.... his words.

Now here is some cute twinner action (everyone calls twins, twinners, but I hear that twins hate this when they get older... right grandma?)...After breakfast one day they decided to take a little stroll in the backyard.

I've been hiking Skyline with my mom every Sunday since November now, and I look forward to this time every week.  I love it, and we never miss.  Except this past Sunday when the babies were sick.  ARGGGGHHHH!  Usually we are joined by Sara... but not anymore (sniff, sniff).  Sometimes my cousin Jackie joins us, and sometimes my friends Kimberlee and Jennifer join us. 

Derek loves hiking too, so we decided to take all 3 early last week.  Derek walks most of the way and we push James & Jillian.  When we get to the white rocks we let them play.  Saying they love it is an understatement.  

 

So my mom and I are going to try to continue this with them once a week.  Hopefully soon Derek can work up his stamina so he go can further with us. 

That's all for now.  My next post will be a wedding one.  Jason and I leave for Las Vegas Thursday night after the kids go to bed.  I am beyond excited!  Jason's good friend from high school lives in Vegas now and is getting married at the Four Seasons on Friday evening.  I can't wait! 

Seriously, I just can't wait. 

First off... I love weddings!  Love 'em. 

Second.. I love Las Vegas. 

Third... A wedding at The Four Seasons... sounds fancy and I love that.

Fourth... I've been looking for a dress for the past 2 months now.  I just found it last weekend and I LOVE it... and the shoes... OH, THE SHOES!  mmmmmm 

Fifth... I can't wait to spend time with Jason. 

We're going to dance, eat & be merry!

I'm really going to miss the munchkins, though.  But actually, I think they'll miss me more than I'll miss them!
