Sunday afternoon we went to the Orange County Fair. It's fun, but I really don't know why we waste our time and $100 for 2 hours of 'blah'. First off, we know it's always super crowded. Derek likes the animals, but he can see the same animals at his grandparents house in Norco. We pay $6 for a corn dog that he wanted so bad and he took one bite out of. Then we buy 20 tickets for $10 to take Derek on a few rides. Well the Ferris wheel cost 18 tickets for 2 adults. So our $10 got us 1 Ferris wheel ride! Are you kidding me? And Derek was pretty nervous the whole time, as was I. I have a fear of heights but I thought I was okay on Ferris wheels. I hated it more than our little man! Especially when you have to stop and you're at the top... yuck! The only real enjoyable part was the $8 pony ride for about 3 minutes. Derek loved it, and we got a few cute pictures. Anyway, after only an hour and half Derek was sick of it and for some reason we had spent $100... weird! Here are a few pictures of the short day.
Cute pics of D on the horse. I have to say, I hate fairs and things like that. As much as i love my fam and friends, and meeting new and interesting people, I am REALLY NOT a people person. I hate going to places like that that are so crowded. I'm always grossed out by most of them (i know sounds so mean) and it's hot and i get thirsty! i'd be worse that a toddler whining at the fair.
When I saw your heading, I was thinking that sounded fun. But you're right. To really have fun with kids, you have to spend lots of money. I liked going as a teen. We could see free concerts and I don't really know. Wandering around with a group of friends seems to occupy 17 year old girls for a long time. I LOVE to people watch and the fair attracts all kinds. I always liked the OC Fair.
So fun!!!! When is the fair over...this weekend? I went for the first time last year when Sammy was only 2 months...so I'm excited to go this year, but perhaps we missed it? Looks like D had a great time!
How funny. At least you got a blog post and some cute pictures out of it right??? I usually like the fair. Never been to the OC Fair usually the San Diego one and Yes they sure are expensive!
My name is Kelly. I've been married to the biggest 49er's fan known to man for 6 years. We have a million children... so it feels like that anyway. Derek is my very independent 3 1/2 year old. James is my happy, squeezable 1 year old, and Jillian is my snappy, already a diva 1 year old twin to James. And I can't forget my sweet Bella who we've had since we got married.
I like to cook, although it's seldom now that I am a mother of twins and a toddler. I love to decorate our home, again when time allows. I love to blog about the wild and trying times in our house. I love to get away from my crazy kids for date nights with my husband. I love my friends, I love my very helpful family, and that includes my one-of-a-kind mother in-law... how many people can say that?
I am learning patience, I am learning selflessness, I am learning showers and blow dried hair are overrated. I am learning this hard stage of my life won't last forever, so enjoy it.
