Then come Wednesdays... They're just hard because Tuesdays are so easy. My mom is usually gone most of the day and all 3 kids are home. I guess I better get used to it though, as we should be moving into the new house in a week or so. But lately Derek hasn't been great with the babies. He is very jealous and doesn't know how to get the attention that he used to get all the time. It's a very hard adjustment for myself and Derek. On Friday night Jason's dad was feeding Jillian and Derek went up to her and was going to kiss her hand, so we thought. But instead he bit her finger; so hard that he left teeth marks and a little blood blister. She screamed for what seemed like eternity and Derek cried because I spanked his bottom and put him in time out.
I try to spend as much alone time with Derek as I can, but it's pretty much impossible with 2 infants. When I just have one of the babies and Derek, it's great! So much easier! But that is not very often, so we all have to learn to deal with the change. Derek goes to school Tuesdays and Thursdays and he loves going. I'm debating on having him go 4 days a week until the twins are a few months older. Then having the twins go to his daycare on Fridays so I can have a whole day alone with Derek. I have yet to talk to Jason about it though... I'll keep you posted.
And now a few random pictures...
James gives great smiles now. Jillian has some catching up to do!

We made cream puffs the other day with home-made whipped cream, and they turned out DELICIOUS!

And one more story to tell...
Derek's school is awesome. Miss Lauri is absolutely the best! I called her this morning to see if it was okay if Derek came today. I told her I wanted to take the kids to the park first, then I would drop him off. She told me to come drop off the babies with her and take Derek to the park without the babies. So that's just what we did. Derek thought it was so cool that the babies were going to school and he got to go to the park with just mommy. This trip to the park was one of the best... he was in seventh heaven! After about an hour we headed back to Miss Lauri's and Derek said the cutest thing... "Mom, we go back to Miss Lauri's for lunch. She's my favorite!". So I dropped Derek off and picked the babies up. He was so excited to go back to "school" and play with his friends that he gave me a kiss and told me to take the babies home now so he could play. Life is great with Miss Lauri!!!
On our way back home I drove through El Pollo Loco to get a salad. After a 20 minute wait in the drive thru I finally got my food. As I pulled away I look in the bag and it's not what I ordered, and I didn't get my Diet Coke. I was so mad because I was really looking forward to my chicken salad. I didn't want to wait in the drive thru again since there were about 10 cars in line, so my only option was forget about it or park and bring the babies in to get my order right. I chose to get my order right. I had to park so far away because of the lunch crowd so that made me even more upset. So I lugged both babies in their infant seats and the bag of food that I didn't order back inside. As I walked in the door a women came out to help me. It turned out to be a friend from church that I hadn't seen in years, Heather Christensen. She was with her husband and daughter and her children. They were so great and watched the babies while I stood in line and got my correct order. Then Her daughter helped me back to the car with the babies. What life savers! Thank you!! I will have to pay it forward with a kind gesture to someone else.
A picture of Jillian since I included one of James... I have to be fair!

*** Sleeping update: For 6 nights now Jillian has slept 8 hours... Oh how I love that! James is is getting there, but not quite yet. He goes to bed around 10:30 (yes that sucks), but is sleeping until 4:30 or so. Then again until about 8:00 am. We're slowly getting more sleep at night... WOO HOO!

That sleep schedule is really not so bad considering there's two. I'm in awe of you all the time. You do SO MUCH.
Parker was insanely jealous when Reid was born. I can't imagine going from one straight to three. Like you said, even less time to help the first adjust. Lucky for everyone, they're best friends now.
Before you know it, they'll both be sleeping through the night and you'll get that much needed rest! I'm sure Derek will come around sooner or later, it must be so hard with twins. I can't imagine being pulled in three different directions, I think you are awesome!
Kelly, I think it is a great idea to bring the twins to Miss Lauri a little bit. It will be a good thing for you and Derek to have that one on one time, and good for you too.
James is getting so big...and JilliBean SO looks like you.
Poor Derek, he doesn't understand what the heck happened.
And kudos to you for going in to get your order right with two infants in tow. You are something else!!!
Oh, and now I am craving Claim Jumper!
I'm so sorry I wish the adjustment was smoother for everyone involved. I'm glad you have such nice people around to help you. Good luck moving into your house this week I hope all goes well.
Ahhh, they are so sweet! I can't believe your ordeal at El Polo Loco! I hate when that happens, but the fact that we can't all just "run in" and get what we ordered, makes it even harder. But in your case, the "run in" turned out to be a good idea!!! Can't wait to see your new house!!!
So much to comment on! Yes, way to go on the El Pollo Loco ordeal. I would have just driven home pissed off. =)
Sorry Wed. are so hard. Hopefully things will start getting easier soon.
The sleep schedule doesn't sound terrible considering, like Katie said. Jill sounds like she's doing pretty good sleeping. They are getting so big and even cuter!
Poor Derek, he will get used to these new siblings very soon. Thank goodness for Miss Laurie! She sound like she will be a big help!
I can't wait to catch up tonight!! See you soon!!
