9 Months Old

Yeah! We've reached the 9 month mark. Most parents say it flew by and how sad they are to see their babies grow up. Well you already know what I'm going to say. It didn't fly by, the nine months felt like nine months, or maybe even longer. Only 3 more months until they're one! Can't wait.

* These two fight like no other! They fight over one anther's bottle, they fight over toys, they fight over food... everything!

* James is getting his 5th tooth now. Jill is getting her 7th! She's always been ahead of her twin in the that department. They eat anything BUT baby food. Which makes it difficult to figure out what to feed them right now. They'll take a few bites of baby food, as long as it's fruit. But then they want real food. So they eat toast, pancakes, waffles, or eggs for breakfast. Lunch is usually pasta, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, applesauce, or mashed bananas. Dinner is the same as lunch... and soup, they love soup. I try to mix it up, but it's so hard to think of soft foods they won't choke on. Derek ate baby food for a long time, and loved it. I guess I'm saving money on baby food though... that's a plus.

(Jill's hair is finally starting to grow, but only on top, as you can see!)

* They both pull themselves up onto anything they can and walk along the walls and furniture. They can stand unassisted for a few seconds. I'm hoping they'll both be walking by Christmas... we'll see.

They also can't sleep in the same room anymore. This definitely irritates me. We have a four bedroom house.. our room, Derek's room, the twins' room, and an office. I wish Jason didn't need an office, because these babies really need their own rooms. If they are in the same room, they don't sleep well. One wakes up the other and so on. It just doesn't work. James always sleeps in his crib in their room. Jillian always sleeps in the pack-n-play in the bonus room. Usually this is ok, but we have to try to be quiet so we don't wake her up. Sometimes I move the pack-n-play in our room, but it's such a hassle to move it back and forth. So right now I'm thinking I need to make a room divider and create a 'make shift' room, or little area, just for Jillian in the bonus room. I'll put some type of white noise (like a fan) in with her so that distracts from our noise downstairs.

One thing they do that I LOVE is that they hold their own bottles. I usually put them down for their naps with a bottle and they drink it and go right to sleep. I think they know how much it helps me out!

I've also had plans to get Jillian's ears pierced the past 2 Saturdays now, but she hasn't felt good. I just feel awful adding to her discomfort. I know I'll cry if she cries, and I hate that. I'm such a baby when I see my children in pain, even if it is only for a few seconds. Maybe I'll take her this week. I'll keep you posted.

I wish I had more pictures to post for their 9 month post, but I don't... Sorry grandparents! I'll try to take more this week.

I was wondering if you were going to get Jilli's ears pierced. It just looks so cute I think! She is such an Enlow!!! I can't get over it. She's so pretty. And James is a doll too. Too bad they can't sleep well in the same room. That makes sense though. I wonder what other people who have twins wind up doing about that.

They are getting so big, and more adorable every day! I know time isn't flying for you Kelly, but you are almost out of the worst stage. Yeah!!!

I for one can't believe they're 9 months. IT seems you just had them.

I remember going through a time when I thought it would be impossible for my kids to share a room. It's a rough time getting through it but it pays off. Would either of them share well with Derek?

I've seen really cute room dividers done with book shelves. That would work well in an office. You just put the book shelf perpendicular to the wall....right in the middle of the room. You could put the crib behind it.

Good luck.

Such adorable kids you have...even your football "poser" being the big boy he is! It is so stressful having kids in the same room! We don't have a choice and have to have the kids share but I swear Travis doesn't cry half as much as Sammy did because we always rush to grab him so he doesn't wake Sammy! Good luck with your make shift room/wall! I'm sure you can find a good "contractor" to help with that :) Hahaha, put that man to work!

They are so adorable, and so different! Good luck with the room situation, that has got to be frustrating. Have you thought about setting up a small office in the bonus room? Who wants to give up that room though right?
