Children: Please don't die on me!

Thanksgiving came and went. I didn't take any pictures, and I'm so mad at myself. The kids looked so cute that day. I just haven't been in a picture taking kind of mood lately. I need to change that.

We've all been sick around here. Mostly just colds, but that isn't any fun. I stayed in bed the ENTIRE day on Sunday. I could not get out. I felt horrible. Today has been better.. so glad.

But then...

this afternoon...

my poor little Jilli-Bean almost gave me a heart attack. Actually, I'm pretty sure I did suffer a heart attack.

I was talking on the phone with my good friend Genny. I haven't talked to her for quite a few days. I always keep every door shut to every room and bathroom so the twins don't go snooping around. Well... Derek opened the office door and of course James and Jillian followed him in. I came about a minute or two later to see Jillian choking and gasping for air. I hung up on Genny and grabbed her. Thrusting my hand on her back, freaking out because I'm not remembering what to do for a choking infant. I called my mom and then hung up realizing I need to be calling 911. Just as I'm about to, Jillian starts to gag and throws up. It was a QUARTER.

(Note: My own brother teaches CPR as a side job. I SHOULD know exactly what to do and not panic).

A QUARTER!

Why do babies put everything in their mouths?! We usually are sooo careful not to leave anything small on the floor, but this quarter slipped past us, I guess.

She was pretty shaken up about it and had tears in her eyes for a good 30 minutes afterwards. Derek was hiding because he thought it was his fault since he opened the door and let them in. He later went back in the office and picked up anything that was small so that the babies wouldn't choke again. I thought that was very cute.

So, again... another scare. We've had quite a few scares with these babies this year. Poor little guys... Derek never had anything happen to him like James and Jillian have.

I hope the rest of the week... errr, I mean year, goes smoothly.

I'll end with a picture of my Jilli-bean. I had just taken her hair out of a pony tail... I love this look!

That is SO SO SO scary. I'm glad she threw up on her own. IT's really hard to remember what to do in the moment.

MY Thanksgiving sounds similar. NO pictures...everyone was sick. It was kind of a bust.

I'm so glad that Jill is ok! It really is so scary when your kids have something stuck in their mouths. On Sunday night, while we were putting up our tree, Claire was roaming around all the stuff and all of a sudden we all head her make that awful choking sound. She hadn't been eating so I had NO IDEA what was in her mouth. It was a long piece of tape from the xmas tree. Kids!

Glad you are feeling better!! Can't wait to chat today without any interruptions. :)

Oh Kelly!!!! How scary! Thank goodness she brought it up on her own. Gennifer choked on a life saver once when she was about 2!!!

Kelly, that is so scarey, I am so glad everything turned out okay. Stacy almost ate a cricket once, but crickets go down a whole lot easier than quarters. I think big brother will be an even better helper after this. He sounds so grown up and helpful. Hang in there.

Hi,
forgot to say I can't believe how long Jill's hair is now! A ponytail on top? I need to see this.

Also, cute polka dot pj's. Claire has those too. :)

Did any of that stuff fit her that I gave you recently? Did you like the orange dress and leggings?

Soooo scary. Glad she got it up, Madison puts everything in her mouth too, it DRIVES ME CRAZY. When Riley had just turned 2 we spent the evening in emergency to find out that she swallowed either a penny or a nickel. A day later, I found out it was a nickel.

That is really scary! Thank goodness she ended up coughing it out! Good thing you walked in there when you did! Gavin almost choked the other night, he had one of those biter biscuit things and a piece broke off in his mouth and he started turning red and I panicked...I smacked him on the back and it came out! I really want to learn CPR too...does your brother do it in peoples homes?
